Initial concepts

To launch the 75th anniversary of the Kangol brand, Kangol approached us to develop a popup store concept. We presented the brand with a mood board and store concept based upon their 'Born British' heritage. Our concept focal point would be an architecturally designed Union Jack fixture, with the parts of the Union Jack able to be pulled apart creating social shopping areas to highlight different product. A number of select locations in NYC were shown to the client meeting their budget and permitting requirements.

Research & Planning

Our team provided location scouting within Soho and West Village/Meatmarket areas around NYC. We also worked with an architectural designer/builder to develop drawings and build our focal showcase for the store. With a short timeframe, we designed, and produced the vinyls for the walls and window of the store, and ensured client was kept up to date with the progress.

Event production

Events from The Fader, Disney and InStyle magazine provided entertainment for consumers and media and with a visit from the late David Bowie purchasing a couple of Kangol hats. Artwork featured in store by Janette Beckman.
